ON THE FARM

We choose to run alpacas with our flock. We have two mature wethers that have proven themselves to be wonderful herd protectors.  They can easily defend the flock from foxes.  Since running Alpacas with our ewes and lambs we have had zero losses to foxes.  They have alerted us via their very loud and unique alarm call when stray dogs have threatened the flock.  Alpacas are very alert and extremely protective.  They recognise dogs that are not our own very easily.
